On January 15, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev familiarized himself with the new building of the Senate in the center of Tashkent (the former building of the Foreign Ministry), the presidential press service of the head of state said.
The project provides for the reconstruction of a six-story building, and additional facilities. Engineering communications are being installed today.
The new building will have a 280-seat hall for joint sessions of both chambers of parliament. It will be decorated in the national style.
“Our parliament is very active. During meetings, a separate bill is discussed for hours. Therefore, it is necessary to take into account all aspects, be it movement, health, age of the participants during meetings, to create appropriate conditions. If sunlight falls into the hall, it will have a beneficial effect on mood and work,” said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
In the new building there will also be facilities for meetings with delegations, press conferences and the work of media representatives.
