The websites of the Surkhandarya province governor’s office, as well as mayor’s office of the cities and districts of the province (11 websites in total) were hacked on January 6.
The press service of the province governor’s office confirmed the hack and said that efforts were underway to restore the sites.
In the morning, a green text on a black background signed by the Clone Security group on the main page of the governor’s office website. The internal pages of the site were inaccessible.
The text said that the group managed to gain access to "the entire system of the governor’s office " and recommended to hire not the sons of some big men but the real IT experts, otherwise all classified decisions and orders of the governor would be leaked to the Internet. The text also noted that “one should only fear the almighty God”.
Two weeks ago the chief of staff of the governor’s office allegedly beat an employee of the IT department. On December 16, the employee was allegedly fired because of his letter to the virtual reception of the president.
The chief of staff also reportedly demanded the man to leave the province.
