A delegation of 20 medical specialists from Afghanistan arrived in Uzbekistan for training on the treatment of coronavirus infection, the Uzbek Ministry of Health said.

During 10 days, they will pass master classes in infectious diseases hospitals No. 1 and No. 2 of Zangiata district, get familiar with activities in central and family polyclinics, and also visit the Samarkand province.

The purpose of the trainings is to educate Afghan medical workers on Uzbekistan’s experience in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of coronavirus, to enhance their skills and competence in using modern and effective methods of treating COVID-19, the Ministry noted.

In May, Uzbekistan sent a group of medical workers with extensive experience in treating patients with coronavirus to Tajikistan. Uzbekistan has also built several infectious diseases hospitals for COVID-19 patients in Kyrgyzstan.
