On December 31, at about 23:00, a Chevrolet Gentra driven by the Deputy Minister of Water Resources Vokhidjon Akhmadjonov fell off a cliff on the Kamchik Pass after being hit by another car from the rear left side.
The accident killed his wife and three-year-old daughter, who were in the car, and the deputy minister himself was hospitalized. The family was heading to Fergana to celebrate the New Year with their parents, the Ministry of Water Resources said.
According to the Namangan Province Police Department, the accident occurred on the 258th km of the A-373 Tashkent-Osh highway.
On January 1, the investigation department of the Pap district police department opened a criminal case under Violation of traffic rules resulting in human casualties.
