President Shavkat Mirziyoyev offered his wishes to Uzbeks on the New Year. “We all know how difficult the year 2020 was for the whole world, including for our country. The coronavirus pandemic and the global crisis have become a serious test for humanity,” he said.

“Despite the difficult context, thanks to the dedicatedness of the Uzbek people, huge progress has been achieved in all areas in the country,” he added.

The year 2021 was declared the Year of Supporting Youth and Strengthening the Public Health, “we will consistently continue the reforms in the economic and social spheres,” he said.

The main task, he said, will remain the strengthening of peace and stability in the country, interethnic harmony, an atmosphere of mutual respect and support.

“We will attach particular importance to improving the welfare and strengthening of social protection of the population. We will focus on the issues of ensuring the vital interests of young people, women and senior citizens. We will enhance the public health system and contribute to establishment of a healthy lifestyle in society to a new level,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted.

"In a word, the efforts to build a new Uzbekistan will be consistently continued," he concluded.
