The Cabinet of Ministers’ December 29 issued resolution on switch-over of Uzavtosanoat to the production of electric vehicles only. Until February 1, 2021, the company was instructed to engage foreign experts and consulting companies and develop a draft concept.
In addition, the tax for purchase of electric vehicles inside the country and (or) temporary import is canceled. The Ministry of Finance should take this into account when forming the budget for 2021 and later.
Responsible ministries, together with mayor’s offices, were instructed to develop a Roadmap" within two months for installation of EV charging stations.
Currently in Uzbekistan, the import of electric vehicles is not subject to excise taxes and customs duties.
