The total debt of Uzbekistan electricity consumers has reached 3.5 trillion soums, (US$ 330 million), said Jahongir Obidzhonov, first deputy chairman of Regional Electric Networks.
“The largest debt for electricity is in Samarkand province: 655 billion soums,” he said at a press conference.
As of December 1, the debt of households for electricity topped 2 trillion 340 billion soums.
In two months, the debt decreased by 40 billion soums due to the introduction of a billing system.
