Infectious diseases hospital with 200 beds, built jointly with Uzbekistan, was commissioned in Batken province of Kyrgyzstan, the Ministry of Health said.

The Ministry of Health elaborated that the construction and equipment of the medical facility was fully financed by Uzbekistan.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Kyrgyz Minister of Health Alimkadir Beishenaliev and members of the government, as well as a delegation of Uzbekistan led by First Deputy Minister of Health Amrillo Inoyatov.

The Minister thanked the Uzbek colleagues for their assistance in the construction and equipping the hospital, as well as for the provision of humanitarian aid. He highly commended Uzbekistan’s contribution to the fight against the pandemic in conditions of limited financial resources and a lack of free places in medical institutions in Kyrgyzstan, the Ministry of Health said.

In November, Uzbekistan, on several occasions sent humanitarian aid to the neighboring country, including specialized hospital containers designed for 200 beds, which were used directly for the construction of an infectious diseases hospital.
