On December 22, the Courtyard by Marriott Tashkent Hotel opened in Tashkent’s Yakkasaray district. This is the first hotel of the Marriott International hotel chain, which has over 1100 hotels in more than 50 countries, Dunyo said.
In the opening ceremony were present the Deputy PM/Chairman of the Tourism Development Committee Aziz Abdukhakimov and the U.S. Ambassador to Uzbekistan Daniel Rosenblum.
Aziz Abdukhakimov noted that there is an increase in the number of hotels in Uzbekistan’s provinces due to the waivers and reliefs provided to investors in the tourism sector during the coronavirus pandemic.
Courtyard by Marriott is a brand of hotels owned by Marriott International. This mid-priced range of hotels designed for business travelers, also accommodate families. The Courtyard by Marriott Tashkent hotel has 131 rooms, 5 conference rooms, 2 restaurants, a terrace, 2 bars with European and national cuisine, as well as a swimming pool and a fitness center.
The press service of the Tashkent Department for Tourism Development reported that about 200 billion soums were contributed on the construction of the hotel complex, with 120 jobs created.
