“If you remember, we have set ourselves the goal to get even stronger from the coronavirus pandemic. Today, as this difficult year comes to an end, we can confidently say that our efforts are yielding positive results. After all, you can see with your own eyes that the pandemic is worsening in the world, while the situation is stable in Uzbekistan. God willing, at the end of this month we will inaugurate the Sergeli metro line. May we have more such bright days," Shavkat Mirziyoyev said at the opening ceremony of the Tashkent Metallurgical Plant.
The US$ 82.6 million project provides for the laying of 7 kilometers of tracks and build 5 stations. The Sergeli branch will connect with the Olmazor metro station of the Chilanzar line.
The line is located in a nine-point seismic zone, which was taken into account in the design.
