The Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov, who is on a visit to the United States, met with the Acting Administrator of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) John Barsa, the Foreign Ministry said.
The parties, reportedly, thoroughly exchanged views on the development of joint projects aimed at the Uzbekistan economic growth, boosting exports of agricultural products, improving the management and efficient use of water resources, improving the situation in the Aral Sea region.
John Barsa reiterated the agency's commitment to further support the large-scale Uzbekistan reforms.
In addition, the counterparts confirmed their interest in the implementation of USAID regional projects within the framework of the C5+1 format, in particular those focused on the involvement of Afghanistan into the economic processes in Central Asia.
Also, the USAID chief expressed his intention to visit Uzbekistan in the near future.
