The President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev, the Uzbek presidency website said.
The two leaders reportedly discussed the items in the bilateral agenda and the regional cooperation issues and noted the importance of further promotion of economic cooperation projects in priority sectors added to the Road Map of mutually beneficial practical cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
The parties also focused on the continuation of active contacts at the regional and business level, as well as the expansion of cultural and humanitarian exchanges.
The Presidents exchanged views on the development of the situation in the Central Asian region, as well as deepening the dialogue within the framework of international and regional organizations, including the CIS and SCO.
The schedule of upcoming events at the highest level was also touched upon.
