Civil servants’ asset and income declaration system is planned to be introduced in stages from January 1, 2021. Such a bill will be published for public input shortly, Akmal Burkhanov, director of the Anti-Corruption Agency, announced today at a press conference.

“Our goal is, sooner or later, to ensure that the income, expenses and asset of all civil servants,” he said.

“We want to make sure that step by step everyone starting from the President, and the Prime Minister, judges, prosecutors, governors, mayors, heads of ministries and departments, heads of departments start declaring assets and income. Under stages, I mean from top to bottom, and not vice versa ... Why in stages? There are various reasons, but the main one is consistency. There must be a system. Our ultimate goal is that all civil servants switch to income declaration and no one will be left on the sidelines. I assure you of this,” said the head of the Anti-Corruption Agency.

According to him, the entire system is planned to be introduced within a maximum of five years. In the near future, the bill is to be published for public discussion, where, starting from January 2021, it is proposed to introduce the declaration system.

The Anti-Corruption Agency was created in June 2020 and is a specially authorized state body for the development and implementation of state policy in the field of preventing and combating corruption.
