On September 19, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a regulation on the procedure for "rebate" part of the costs of foreign film companies in the production of their films in the territory of Uzbekistan.

According to the Ministry of Justice, now 20 percent of the expenses (but not more than 300 thousand US dollars) spent on foreign film companies in the country will be reimbursed from the state budget.

At the same time, the foreign film company will receive permission from the Uzbekkino national agency to shoot films in the country and a memorandum of cooperation will be signed.

The foreign film company opens a special account in commercial banks of Uzbekistan to shoot films in the country and pays for it.

Upon expiration of the permit, the shooting of the film is considered complete.

Relevant documents for reimbursement will be submitted to the Ministry of Finance and a decision will be made by the Ministry within 10 days.

Uzbekkino has been appointed as the state body responsible for coordinating the reimbursement of expenses to foreign film companies.

A list of foreign film companies funded from the state budget will be posted on the agency's website.
