The Tourism Development Committee announced the introduction in Uzbekistan of a new procedure for registering individuals in accommodation facilities.
“Now all persons who use accommodation facilities, including citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan, foreign citizens and stateless persons, should be registered with IDs, by administrations of these facilities through entering data into E-Mehmon automated information system, - the statement said.
Registration shall be done at the time of check-in (earlier - within 12 hours) and regardless of the period of stay.
"Managers of hotels, medical institutions, resorts, rest homes and other organizations providing accommodation services are encouraged to strictly observe this procedure," the statement added.
The introduction of these procedures is aimed for health and safety of property of local and foreign tourists, protecting their interests and providing guaranteed services, the Committee concluded.
