Today, September 15, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev hosted the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexei Overchuk.
Opening the meeting, Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted with satisfaction that despite the global spread of coronavirus infection, an active dialogue is continuing and the upward trend in the Uzbek-Russian multifaceted cooperation is being maintained.
“There is an increase in the two-way trade figures, projects in various sectors of the economy is in progress, the number of joint ventures is rising. Shavkat Mirziyoyev also underscored the well-established close and effective cooperation in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, ”the statement said.
In turn, Alexey Overchuk thanked Shavkat Mirziyoyev for the opportunity to hold the meeting and conveyed greetings and best wishes on behalf of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
Also, the parties reviewed topical issues of further advancing the long-term cooperation in the light of the implementation of agreements at the highest level, focusing on the preparation of a long-term program of economic cooperation, the promotion of joint investment projects, the intensification of cooperation between the provinces of the two countries. The importance of accelerating priority programs and cooperation projects was noted in order to fill the agenda of Uzbek-Russian strategic partnership relations with new content.
In addition, an exchange of views took place on cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Eurasian Economic Union and the continuation of close contacts within the CIS.
