The Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced that the meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) will be held in November in the format of a video conference.

"We paid special attention to the preparation of documents for the Council of Heads of State of the SCO Member States, which, as Russian President Vladimir Putin announced yesterday in his greeting to the Foreign Ministers, will be held in November via videoconference," he said at a press conference on Thursday meeting of the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers.

According to the minister, the Foreign Ministers also reviewed such aspects of cooperation that require joint efforts, such as the fight against international terrorism, drug trafficking, transborder organized crime and cybercrime. In all these areas, draft statements and other documents have been approved, which will be submitted for approval to the heads of state.

“We noted that the SCO is committed to participating in efforts to stabilize the world economy. In this context, we emphasized the importance of the implementation of the Program of Multilateral Trade and Economic Cooperation of the SCO Member States until 2035, as well as the effective solution of other issues related to transport connectivity, the transition to national currencies in mutual settlements, the creation of transparent and more favorable conditions for trade and investments ", - said Lavrov.

In addition, an agreement was reached to continue to cooperate in the interests of preserving the sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the countries; relevant proposals are also being submitted for approval by the Council of the Heads of the SCO Member States.
