Uzbekistan is considering to purchase Russia’s fast track vaccine against coronavirus and is monitoring the epidemiological situation overseas, exploring the possibility of resuming flights, said Bakhodir Yusupaliev, Director of the Agency for Sanitary and Epidemiological/First Deputy Minister of Health, this in a briefing today.

“We all understand that in the battle against coronavirus we need either herd immunity or vaccination, which will also lead to mass immunization. Therefore, of course, the Ministry of Health and the government is considering mass vaccination,” he added.

He noted that a number of other countries, including China, have asked to take part in the third stage of clinical trials of some vaccines.

“Now we are considering whether to participate in the third stage or purchase the vaccine after the successful completion of all trials. We are also considering the Russian vaccine. We know that it has already been registered in Russia and is undergoing the third stage of clinical trials. We are ready to purchase drugs for mass vaccination, and the safety and effectiveness of the vaccine are of great importance,” the deputy minister added.
