The press service of the General Prosecutor's Office (GPO) of Uzbekistan, citing the prosecutor's office of Karakalpakstan, published the details of the probe into the death of a man in the Turtkul district after he reportedly "visited" a police department.

According to the GPO, on July 26 at about 4:00 pm, a resident of the Yangiobod mahalla of Turtkul district, I.S., came home drunk and argued with family members, as a result of which his wife, Ch.Kh., called the district police department.

The inspectors M. Zh. And M. D. arrived and took the man to the police station. There, due to the poor health of the man, the inspector called his wife and an ambulance, which took him to the district medical association.

Despite the fact that I.S. was unconscious, the medical association did not carry out the necessary medical procedures and, pointing out that he had fallen asleep due to alcohol intake, allowed his relatives to pick him up on the same day.

“In a coma, I.S. did not return to consciousness at home, and therefore on July 27 he was again taken to the intensive care unit. On August 11, he died without regaining consciousness,” the Karakalpakstan prosecutor’s office said in a statement.

As part of the pre-investigation check, a forensic medical examination was ordered to establish the causes of I. S.'s death.

On August 19, the Prosecutor's Office of the Turtkul District opened a criminal case under Negligence in office leading to the death of a person charge.

On August 18, Ozodlik, the Uzbek Service of Liberty Radio, referring to the head of the hospital's resuscitation department, Abdurasul Rajabboev, reported that the man had a closed head injury.

“He was brought in a coma, with convulsions. There were abrasions on the neck, the left pelvis was scratched. It turns out he was drunk that day. Perhaps he hit his head on the ground, we do not know what happened ... On that day, the prosecutor's office came and examined the situation,” Ozodlik quoted the doctor.
