On Sunday, August 16, 40 physicians from Russia landed in Uzbekistan to assist in the fight against COVID-19. Barno Abdusamatova, a member of the headquarters for the fight against coronavirus, announced during a briefing at the Agency of Information and Mass Communications.
For one month, Russian doctors will reportedly work together with Uzbek counterparts, providing practical and methodological assistance.
Among Russian doctors there are anesthesiologists, resuscitation specialists, infectious disease specialists, epidemiologists and therapists. Reportedly, they all have experience in treating patients diagnosed with COVID-19.
Previously, Russia sent its medical experts to Kazakhstan to help fight COVID-19. They carried out a mission to assist in the fight against coronavirus in the country from early July to early August.
