An official of the capital construction department of the Tashkent mayor’s office, abusing his official position, promised to allocate 1 hectare of unused land in Chilanzar district in return of US$ 1.4 million, the State Security Service said.
The man was caught red-handed in an operation by the State Security Service officers together with the prosecutor’s office and the Tashkent Police Department when receiving 50 thousand US dollars of the agreed amount.
He told that he had to hand over this money to the head of the department of the Chilanzar district mayor’s office, who was also detained while receiving US$ 50 thousand as part of the operation.
