Japan donated Uzbekistan 500 million yen (nearly US$ 4.5 million) for the purchase of medical equipment to combat coronavirus infection.
These funds will be used to purchase a high-end mobile diagnostic station (container), consisting of an ultrasound device, digital X-ray unit, computer tomograph and mammogram, as well as a mobile laboratory (container) allowing to diagnose hundreds of diseases in a short time, consisting of a PCR laboratory, an ultrasound device , digital x-ray machine and mammograph. It is also planned to purchase three CT scanners for infectious diseases hospitals.
The goal of the project is to strengthen the material and technical base of the healthcare system of Uzbekistan during the COVID-19 pandemic.
