On June 9, 2020, Deputy Foreign Minister Sherzod Asadov held videoconference talks with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkey Mehmet Süreyya Er, the Foreign Ministry said.

The parties reportedly discussed topical issues of multifaceted bilateral cooperation in political, trade, economic, investment and other areas.

Sherzod Asadov expressed gratitude for the practical assistance provided to Uzbekistan in combating the spread of coronavirus and the negative consequences of the emergency situation at the Sardoba reservoir.

The parties also touched upon the preparations for the second meeting of the Uzbek-Turkish Strategic Cooperation Council in Tashkent. In particular, it was noted that it is necessary to quickly agree on the agenda of the event and hold the next round of talks in the form of Strategic Planning Group and inter-ministerial political consultations.

They also exchanged views on the schedule and agenda of other joint events planned for this year.
