The chief of the State Authority for Sanitary and Epidemiological Well-being, Nurmat Otabekov, said that the situation with the coronavirus infection in Uzbekistan had been worsening lately.
“The epidemiological situation around the coronavirus in the country remains serious. 195 people were tested positive yesterday in Tashkent, eight in the Khorezm province and four in the Syrdarya provinces were found among the public, ”he said.
Atabekov noted that everyone should bear in mind the potential risk of getting infected on streets or during contact with others. He called on the public to comply with lockdown restrictions, wearing masks, maintaining social distance and regularly washing hands.
“Unfortunately, the population is usually manifesting indifference to these recommendations. We see that the situation is exacerbating,” Otabekov added.
In Uzbekistan, the number of citizens infected with coronavirus has reached 4,352, with highest daily rise, over 200 cases, recorded yesterday.
