Two persons were arrested as part of the criminal case on the partial collapse of the Sardoba reservoir dam, the General Prosecutor's Office of Uzbekistan said.
As a source told the Tashkent Times, tha one of the arrested Fakhriddin Danabaev, 33, who became the chief of the Sardoba reservoir development and operation company under Uzbekistan Railways company in September 21, 2018. He is now facing the Official negligence resulting in death of persons charge.
As previously reported, criminal case was opened under Official negligence and Violation of safety rules for mining, construction or explosive work charges.
It was previously reported that the investigation team is considering the following major versions of the incident:
- design errors;
- non-compliance with building codes;
- errors during operation;
- natural disaster.
