On the occasion of the sacred Eid al-Fitr holiday and in line with clause 23 of article 93 of the Uzbek Constitution on May 21, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the Pardoning of a Group of Persons Serving Prison Sentences, Who Demonstrated Sincere Repentance and Have Chosen the Right Path Decree, UzA reported.
Of the total 258 pardoned people, 16 people were fully relieved from serving the sentence, 101 people were released on parole, 24 people got milder sentence, and the sentence of 117 people were cut.
Among the pardoned 7 are the men over 60 years old, 1 - female, 7 - foreign nationals, 164 - persons who participated in the activities of banned organizations.
