The government of Uzbekistan has decided to automatically extend the validity of all visas to foreign citizens currently in the country until April 10, with no overstay penalties to be levied, the Deputy PM Aziz Abdukhakimov said.
The process of preparing charter flights for the departure of foreigners is now ongoing. Passengers who hold Uzbekistan Airways tickets will get seats, while others will be required to buy tickets.
The government called on guests to remain calm. “A special headquarters has been formed to work with them. If necessary, medical assistance will be provided,” the Deputy PM reassured.
