The Commonwealth 2020 military exercises of the military units of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan were held at the Fakhrobod training ground in Tajikistan’s Khatlon province. In the drill were present the defense ministers Bakhodir Kurbanova and Sherali Mirzo, the Uzbek Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
According to the plan of the drill, illegal armed groups crossed the state border, took hostages and made demands to the authorities.
The Mi-8 helicopter airborne reconnaissance conducted reconnaissance and after locating the enemy, supported the fire of three assault groups. Assault groups destroyed the terrorists in the building and freed the hostages.
The military personnel of Uzbekistan completed the task ahead of schedule, the statement said.
The military personnel also drilled the encirclement of a conditional airport occupied by illegal armed groups, the destruction of the enemy and the release of hostages aboard an aircraft.
