Uzbekistan will join the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-speaking countries this year. First Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Chamber, Akmal Saidov announced at the international conference “New stage of state and social construction in Uzbekistan, enhancing the role of the parliament and the representative bodies in democratic modernization”.
"Development of parliamentary diplomacy is one of the important tasks of both our chambers. We are seeing the two development axes. First, we will step up our activities in international parliamentary organizations. The Uzbek parliamentary will shortly attend the Interparliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States, and will also become the full-fledged member of the Turkic Parliamentary Assembly," said Akmal Saidov.
