Today, the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev hosted the visiting Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Péter Szijjártó.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted with deep satisfaction the recent upward trend in the Uzbek-Hungarian relations of traditional friendship and multifaceted partnership.
Productive contacts have been established between the two countries at various levels. In 2019, the bilateral trade in goods grew by 45 percent, with joint projects being implemented in the field of agriculture, food industry, pharmaceuticals and other sectors of the economy.
Péter Szijjártó, sincerely thanking the Uzbek President for the warm welcome, conveyed the best wishes of the Hungarian Prime Minister, Viktor Orban.
An exchange of views took place on pressing issues of bilateral cooperation and regional cooperation, including in the format of a dialogue with the European Union, focusing on the promotion of joint projects with the introduction of best practices and modern technologies of leading Hungarian companies, as well as their financing.
Also the parties discussed the ways to advance the ties between provinces, the projects in the banking, transport sectors and the personnel training.
The schedule of upcoming high level meetings was also considered.
