In 2020, the CIS countries will step up efforts to combat crime, terrorism and ensure cyber security in the CIS countries, the Uzbekistan Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Today, the Foreign Ministry published the Concept of Uzbekistan's Presidency in the CIS in 2020.
“Concerted efforts will be applied In the field of cooperation between law enforcement bodies and special services in the fight against terrorism, extremism and drug trafficking and on the practical implementation of the interstate program of joint measures to combat crime for 2019–2023,” the text of the concept says.
The list of priorities of the Uzbekistan's Presidency includes the implementation of a cooperation program between the CIS member states in the fight against terrorism and extremism for 2020–2022 and a strategy for ensuring cyber security of the CIS member states.
The concept also provides for the efforts of Uzbekistan to maintain and develop the achieved level of cooperation in the field of military cooperation, as well as the preparation of the CIS member states military cooperation concept until 2025.
In total, the concept contains about 70 events aimed at developing cooperation within the framework of the community.
