This year Uzbekistan Airways will launch new routes, the company General Director, Valeriy Tyan said on Thursday at a press conference on occasion of the carrier's 25th anniversary.

In the near future the flights to Tajikistan will resume. "The Intergovernmental Agreement has been finalized and is ready for signing. Dushanbe Flights will indeed resume, and will resume very soon", - Valeriy Tyan said.

In early April, or earlier the flight to Lahore (Pakistan) will also be reopened. Soon, the company will fly to more destinations in India (apart from Delhi and Amritsar flights), and in China, particularly to the industrial zones, Tyan added.

Currently Uzbekistan Airways fly to more than 50 cities in Europe and Asia. The charter flights cover many destinations from Alaska to New Zealand.

A new passenger terminal at the Tashkent international airport will be commissioned in 2020, which will have a 1,500 passengers per hour capacity.

About 1400 families living in 540 houses on the territory of the future terminal will be resettled. Each of them will get an apartment or plot of land. Those to be resettled will get adequate compensation to a point when the property owner will say: "Yes, that is a fair deal", Valeriy Tyan assured.
