The candidate for the post of the prime minister, Abdulla Aripov announced the creation in 2020 of a state-owned Humo Air airline.
“In order to boost competition in the aviation industry, a state-owned Humo Air will be launched this year,” said Abdulla Aripov, presenting an action plan as the PM at a meeting of the Political Council of the Liberal Democratic Party (UzLiDeP) Saturday.
“At the initial stage, this airline will launch regular flights within, I repeat, within the country at much cheaper rates than those of Uzbekistan Airways. This task was specifically set by the president, and I think that this year we will achieve it,” he added.
He noted that the government also plans to reconstruct Samarkand and Termiz airports and update the fleet of Uzbekistan AIrways.
