For the first time Tashkent will host the World Judo Championship 2021, the Uzbek Olympic Committee said in a statement.
The president of the International Judo Federation (IJF) Marius Wieser arrived in Tashkent to sign the agreement on holding the World Cup. He added that the IJF Congress on the sidelines of the championship.
According to the press service, a quadripartite memorandum was also signed between the Ministry of Public Education, the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports, the Judo Federation of Uzbekistan and the International Judo Federation, according to which the program "Judo in schools" will be implemented in 20 schools of Uzbekistan.

During the event, the Minister of Physical Culture and Sports Dilmurod Nabiev awarded Wieser with the badge Excellence in Physical Culture and Sports and the Minister of Education Sherzod Shermatov with the title Education Sponsor.
