The President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with executives of Japanese financial institutions and companies such as JETRO, JICA, JABIC, NEDO, JOGMEC, Mitsubishi, Itochu, Sumitomo, Marubeni and Isuzu in Tokyo, the presidential press service said.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev reportedly calling on them to invest in Uzbekistan projects.
“Japan is our strategic partner. Together we did a great job in terms of modernizing the economy sectors and infrastructure in Uzbekistan. Our visit aims to open a new page in the history of the bilateral ties. There are still many untapped potential, new projects in trade, energy, petrochemicals, transport, tourism, fruit and vegetable processing and services,” he said.
The President noted that fundamental economic reforms were underway in Uzbekistan, which had become irreversible.
The parties also discussed the ways to advance the partnership ties between companies and financial institutions of the two countries, the prospects for implementing various programs and projects, expanding the mutual delivery of products and services.
