Former First Deputy Mayor of Margilan city in charge of Economy and Entrepreneurship, Elyor Tukhtamatov, was found dead, the General Prosecutor's Office said in a statement citing the Fergana Police Department.
The incident was reported to the police department on November 30 at about 11:00. Elyor Tukhtamatov, 35, made a noose from a cable and hanged himself in the basement of his house in Fergana city, the Prosecutor General said.
Ferghana prosecutors are conducting a pre-investigation check.
Elyor Tukhtamatov served as Margilan deputy mayor from August 20, 2018 to April 2, 2019 and left the post at his own will, the statement said.
