Kang Nam-kyu, a Korea Republic national, has been arrested as a suspect in a criminal case against the Korean and Migrations employment agency, the Investigation Department of the Interior Ministry said.
In October, a criminal case was opened under Serious Fraud charge against the officials of the agency - Kakhramon Otakulov, Musurmon Alikulov and Odil Kabulov. The agency offered employment in the Republic of Korea, with over 645 individuals paying from 27 million soums to 32 million soums each in advance.
Over 12 billion soums, or US$ 1.27 million were transferred to the company’s bank account, which the company leadership spent on personal needs. An investigation is underway and measures are being taken to provide reimbursement to the victims.
