The UK company Lapwing Advisers will invest US$ 300 million for creation of data storage and processing center in Uzbekistan, the Foreign Ministry said.
This was announced during the talks between the Uzbekistan Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Said Rustamov, and Dermot Mayes, Executive Director at Lapwing Advisers.
"Dermot Mayes commended the good pace in the introduction of information and communication technologies, e-government and e-commerce systems in Uzbekistan that contribute to economic growth and accelerated development of all areas, "the Foreign Ministry press service noted.
This process of widespread IT penetration requires high-tech infrastructure for storing and processing data, which ensures reliability and uninterrupted access to them, as well as reduce vulnerability to cyber threats.
As Dermot Mayes emphasized, in the light of previous agreements with the Ministry of Development of Information Technologies and Communications of Uzbekistan, Lapwing Advisers, which has extensive experience in investment consulting, has successfully completed the formation of a consortium of parties and investors to the project, which will also include another UK company and Japanese manufacturer of telecommunications equipment.
An agreement was also reached on a visit by the senior officials of Lapwing Advisers Ltd and its project partners to Uzbekistan in late November - early December to discuss the details the project details.
