The Cabinet of Ministers issued resolution on September 30 on additional measures for tapping and development of the tourism potential of Samarkand province. Which interalia provides for increase the number of Samarkand bound charter and regular flights.
The government instructed the Ministry of Transport, together with the State Tourism Development Committee, to hold talks with foreign airlines on opening new flights based on existing tourist demand in promising areas within two months.
In addition, the Ministry of Transport, together with Uzbekistan Airways and Uzbekistan Airports, was instructed to develop air routes to Samarkand from the CIS countries, as well as China, Indonesia, the United Arab Emirates, Bangladesh, Japan, South Korea and EU countries to increase tourists inflow.
