As of October 1, 2019, only soums can be withdrawn from Uzbekistan ATMs accepting international cards, such as VISA, MasterCard, UnionPay or others.
Some ATMs have already been issuing soums only from September 24. While, residents may withdraw cash dollars at the bank's cash desks, in this case, citizens must bring an ID along with the card.
According to the Central Bank, the move is aimed at combating the legalization of proceeds of crime.
