The President Shavkat Mirziyoyev yesterday hosted the delegation of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, headed by its chairman Vyacheslav Volodin, the presidential press service said.
The sides reportedly exchanged views on the ways to further advance the political dialogue and to expand the ties in the trade, economic, investment, transport and communication, scientific, technical, educational, cultural and humanitarian and other fields, focusing on the importance of continuing intensive inter-parliamentary contacts and exchanges.
Close partnership on various aspects of lawmaking, support for inter-regional ties and promising cooperation projects, and promoting the implementation of reached bilateral and multilateral agreements, including within the framework of international and regional organizations have been noted as the priorities by the parties.
In conclusion, Vyacheslav Volodin wished successful holding of the upcoming elections to the Legislative Chamber and local representative bodies this year.
