On July 24, the Foreign Ministry presented a report to the Senate Committee for international relations, economic relations, foreign investments and tourism for H1 of 2019. The report included the steps being taken to address the Aral Sea crisis.

The Government reported it addressed about 200 international organizations and foundations and that it had been also taking measures to attract private funds, with cooperation established with Bill Gates and Coca-Cola funds.

Also, to address the problems of the Aral Sea region it is planned to attract funds from the European Union and the United Arab Emirates. Currently, negotiations are underway with Sweden, Germany, France and the United Kingdom. Norway was the first donor country, who pledged US$ 1.2 million.

An international conference is also set to be held in Nukus on October 25, with about 300 international experts, scientists and investors to attend, who can offer precise solutions to the problems of the Aral Sea region.
