As per the amendments and addenda made to the Internal Regulations of the Correction institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, prisoners in Uzbekistan will be getting additional rights, the Ministry of Justice said.
According to the modifications, the prisoners are granted the following rights:
- exercise outdoors in spare time, if the weather permits;
- getting psychological aid;
- have safe working conditions, rest, go on vacation, get wages.
Now in the case of a serious illness, convicts will have extra phone calls, extra meeting as allowed by doctor.
The document also clarified the frequency of medical examinations of in-mates and medical examinations shall be conducted at least once every 6 months, as well as on their request.
