The Ministry of Public Education (MPE) will buy 2,859 computer classes for secondary schools. The computers supply deal was awarded to the South Korean company KT, as part of the project "Further development of ICTs in school education." The project is funded by a US$ 33 million worth of a loan from the Export-Import Bank (Eximbank) of the Republic of Korea.

As per the contract, KT will supply and equip 2,859 teaching and computer classes for 2,766 secondary schools in Uzbekistan, with about 700 secondary schools to be equipped before the year-end.

Now the MPE is reviewing the curricula to include IT classes.
