The President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed decree Friday approving the opening of the Russian Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology in Tashkent as of 2019/2020 academic year.
Curricula and educational programs are approved by the university in coordination with the Uzbek Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education.
The students offered government grants for tuition fees will have to work for a period of at least five years.
The branch will be located in the former Mirzo-Ulugbek industrial vocational college at: Tashkent, Mirzo-Ulugbek district, TTZ-1, 47.
The branches of the National Research University “Moscow Energy Institute” and Astrakhan State Technical University are also scheduled to open this year in Uzbekistan.
Earlier, Uzbekistan and Russia signed an agreement on mutual recognition of higher education, qualifications and academic degrees.
