Grégoire Mangeat, the lawyer of the elder daughter of the late Uzbek President Islam Karimov Gulnara Karimova, posted a message on his Twitter account:
Great concern. Most recent information:
1) Karimova is denied medical treatments;
2) she has been taken out of the prison’s medical block right after our last visit to her;
3) she is further denied access to doctors and under constant psychological pressure.
Gulnara Karimova, who was sentenced to five years of restriction of liberty on July 1, 2018, was moved to a penal colony on March 5, 2019 for violating the terms and conditions of the sentence, while repeatedly using communication tools, including the Internet; according to the General Prosecutor Office, she was actively taking measures to prevent the compensation of the damage she caused.
