The Russian government delegation headed by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev will visit Uzbekistan on May 29-30, the Foreign Ministry said.

The Russian Prime Minister will be hosted by the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

During the visit, it is planned to hold in Urgench the first meeting of the Uzbek-Russian joint commission at the level of heads of government - a new format of bilateral cooperation established during the state visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Uzbekistan and summit talks in October 2018.

The heads of the governments will sum up the 20th meeting of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation, held on April 24, and discuss promising areas for further advancing trade and economic relations.

The visit program also includes a visit to Khiva.
