The Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will travel to Uzbekistan on a working visit on May 2. He will be hosted by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the Uzbekistan Foreign Ministry said.

The program of the visit includes talks on the implementation of the previously reached Uzbek-Russian various sector deals. The sides are expected to discuss the regional security issues, including facilitating the launch of the peace process in Afghanistan.

On Friday, Sergey Lavrov will attend the 11th meeting of the member-states to the memorandum of understanding on regional cooperation in drug control in Tashkent.
