Two-way trade between Uzbekistan and Russia over the past two years increased by 20% - this is one of the highest rates among the CIS countries, the Russian Minister of Economic Development Maxim Oreshkin announced at the XX meeting of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation Wednesday.
He said that in the end of the year President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was expected to visit Russia, adding that the intergovernmental commission worked out a number of new areas of bilateral cooperation which would be presented to the Prime Ministers.
"This is a roadmap in the field of agriculture, protocols between our customs authorities - we hadn’t been able to solve this problem for a long time, and last year all the necessary agreements were reached, now we are at final stage," he said.
While, Uzbek Economy Minister Botir Khojaev noted the enhanced trade in goods and economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation.
