Joint command and staff drill is being held in Fergana, Andijan and Namangan provinces as of April 9-13 aimed at precise performance of joint actions by all components of the armed and special forces.
The drill involved forces and equipment of the Ministries of Defense, Interior, Emergency Situations, Border and the State Security Service Troops, the National Guard, the State Customs Committee and local authorities.
According to the Ministry of Defense, yesterday in line with the plan of a joint command drill at several training grounds of the Eastern Military District was held the riot drill aimed at preventing destabilization of the situation in the area and ensuring public order in border areas.
The drill is being commanded by the First Deputy Defense Minister/Chief of the General Staff Major General Pavel Ergashev.
